Exploring the Colors and Textures of India:
A Journey with Alison & Irene

In February, Irene and I embarked on a journey to India, a trip filled with inspiration, collaboration, and discovery. Our purpose? To delve into the heart of our production process, ensuring that our Fall/Holiday 2024 collection was taking shape just as we envisioned while also laying the groundwork for our upcoming Spring/Summer 2025 line.

Our first stop: Jaipur, the vibrant Pink City that never fails to captivate us. Beyond the practical aspects of visiting our suppliers and overseeing production, Jaipur offers a sensory feast that fuels our creativity. The bustling streets teem with life, each corner revealing a new treasure waiting to be discovered. But it's not just the sights; it's the flavours and aromas that infuse our days with magic. From savouring delectable dishes at Jaipur Modern Kitchen to indulging in the chic ambiance of Bar Palladio, every meal becomes a celebration of Indian cuisine.

And then, there's the shopping. Oh, the shopping! Jaipur beckons with its array of boutique stores and markets, each offering a glimpse into India's rich cultural tapestry. Places like Jaipur Modern, Parampara, and Ecru lure us in with their unique finds, while Good Earth and Nicobar present modern interpretations of traditional craftsmanship. It's here that we find not just products but stories waiting to be told through our designs.

But the true highlight of our time in Jaipur lies in witnessing our creations come to life. Block by block, stitch by stitch, we see the intricate process of craftsmanship unfold before our eyes. There's a profound sense of fulfillment in knowing that our designs are in the hands of skilled artisans who breathe life into them with every meticulous detail.

What truly sets our journey apart, however, is the relationships we nurture along the way. Our suppliers aren't just business partners; they're friends who open their homes and hearts to us. From shared meals to heartfelt conversations, we experience the warmth and hospitality that define Indian culture. It's these connections that enrich our journey and remind us of the human stories behind every product we create.

Venturing beyond Jaipur, we find ourselves in Jodhpur, a city steeped in history and tradition. Here, amidst the ancient walls of Mehrangarh Fort, we uncover hidden treasures in the form of vintage artifacts and decor pieces. Each find is a testament to Jodhpur's rich heritage, offering a glimpse into the past that inspires our future designs.

But perhaps the most unforgettable part of our journey is the stay at Supura Bagh boutique resort, a serene oasis nestled amidst the bustle of the city. Surrounded by nature's embrace, we find solace in the quiet moments, reflecting on the beauty of our surroundings and the memories we've created.

 As we bid farewell to India, we carry with us not just the designs for our next collection but the stories of the people and places that have touched our hearts. Our journey may have come to an end, but the inspiration we've found will continue to guide us on our creative path, shaping the stories we tell through our designs.
